CicilyHomes Estates started as a simple question: why does renting a home here still involve so much uncertainty? Fake listings, agents demanding fees from both sides, and landlords with no visibility into who they're renting to.
Today, we verify every landlord's identity and property documents, store every agreement as a smart contract, and give tenants a transparent view of costs from the first search. It's a small team with a specific focus: make renting in Abuja something you don't have to worry about.
How verification works
We want to be upfront about exactly what "Verified" means today, and what it will mean as we roll out further automated checks.
Every landlord submits a national ID number and our team manually cross-checks the submitted documents before a property can go live. Automated real-time government ID verification is on our roadmap but not yet enabled.
Landlords upload a recent utility bill for the property. Our team reviews it against the listing details before approval. Automated OCR/utility-account matching is on our roadmap but not yet enabled.
A property only appears in public search once a CicilyHomes Estates team member has explicitly reviewed and approved both the landlord's identity submission and the property's documents.
"Verified" today reflects a real human review process, not an automated government-ID or utility-account check. We'll clearly badge listings differently once those automated integrations go live.
